A total solar eclipse will be occurring on April 8 in the afternoon.  The last one occurred 45 years ago!  Our hike will start at the Elevated Park in St. Thomas and we will hike along the trail into the open fields.  We want to be out in the open to be able to see the eclipse.  The trail is crushed gravel and easy to walk on.  Our pace will be moderate and we will be stopping once the eclipse starts and resume hiking once it is over.  I have managed to obtain 25 pairs of glasses that can be worn to safely look at the sun so our hike will be capped at 24 plus the hike leader.

Please meet at 1:45 pm at the St. Thomas Elevated park Parking Lot at the Northwest corner of King and Centre St.
Refer to the email sent April 3rd regarding suggesting carpooling arrangements, earlier arrival and lunch options as it will be very busy for parking.

Please bring shoes, water and appropriate clothing for standing in an open field for an extended period of time.  I will supply the glasses.

Hike leader:  Heather Zrini
