Trail User’s Code

Although most of the Thames Valley Trail is on public land, some sections require the generous permission of public-spirited landowners. Remember that this permission may be withdrawn at any time. Please show your appreciation. Dogs must be kept on leashes. Walk around the edge of fields, not across them. Do not disturb farm animals. Protect and do not disturb wildlife. No camping or fires permitted, except in designated areas such as Fanshawe Park. No motorized vehicles. Bicycles are not allowed on private lands.

  • Only hike along marked routes and do not leave the trail.

  • Do not open gates unless the TVTA trail goes through the gate and then be sure to close them.

  • Carry out all garbage and litter, even other people’s if possible.

  • Protect trees and shrubs.

  • Leave flowers and plants for others to enjoy.

  • Keep dogs on leash, especially on or near farmland and naturally sensitive areas.
