The Thames Valley Trail follows the Thames River along most of its route. It links the Elgin Trail at the Elgin/Middlesex County Line in the south with the Avon Trail in St. Mary’s in the north. The trail’s terrain varies from multiuse pathways through parks in London to more rugged terrain traversing the Thames Valley. ESAs such as Kains Woods, Warbler Woods, Kilally Meadows, as well as Komoka Provincial Park and Fanshawe Conservation Area are part of the trail. The Thames Valley Trail is part of a broad network of footpaths in Southwestern Ontario which extend from Port Stanley to Tobermory to Ottawa and beyond.
